The approach by road to Beaumaris, if travelling from the direction of Thomas Telford's historic
Suspension Bridge, is truly delightful. It gives way to a bay dotted with graceful yachts and a
distant view of the idyllic town. Beaumaris offers escape, relaxation and pleasure all year round.
The peace and the beauty of its natural surroundings draws visitors back year after year.
The Beaumaris experience includes festivals, regattas, fairs, firework displays, performances,
exhibitions and the like.Accommodation in Beaumaris and the region can range from well-established
Manors or Hotels, to self-catering facilities or camping and caravanning of the highest quality.
The coastal drive coast to Penmon offers spectacular scenery across the Menai Straits to Snowdonia.
The rugged solitude of Saint Seiriol's Island (Puffin Island) can still be appreciated even on a
windy or foggy winter day. Traces of monastic life from a later period can be seen at the nearby
priory and its remarkable dovecote with about 1000 nesting places is the original baptism well of
Seiriol. There are abundant award winning beaches throughout the area starting with Beaumaris itself.
On the road to Penmon there are a few small sandy beaches before reaching the beautifully pebbled
Penmon beach which has plenty of rockpools to entertain the young. Over the headland towards Red
Wharf Bay you come across Llanddona Beach and its miles of sand. You may wish to explore the whole
area on foot walking the Anglesey trail or by bicycle along the web of Anglesey roads or on the cycle trail.
